초록	Organ donation and transplant coordinators play an important role in the development of organ transplantation. Therefore, we need to pay attention to training and building a network of organ donation and transplant coordinators. In Vietnam, The first training course for organ donation coordinators was in November 2022 with 33 trainees from 16 Northern hospitals (7 transplant hospitals and 9 donor hospitals). There was a 4-day course with topics about organ transplantation, organ donation law, brain death, organ collection and donation from brain-dead people, counseling families of brain-dead people on organ donation, and psychology when approaching them. After the training period, we established a network of organ donation consultancy with 16 hospitals and the Vietnam National Coordinating Center for Human Organ Transplantation (VNCCHOT). Over 1 year, 33 families of brain-dead people accepted organ donation. Meanwhile, only 2 families of brain-dead people agreed to donate organs in 450 other hospitals (similar size and function). With initial achievements, we continue to implement the consultant training model. Until March 2024, we trained 278 national organ donation coordinators working in 68 hospitals (including 23 Northern hospitals, 15 hospitals in the Central area, and 29 Southern hospitals). Moreover, in 68 hospitals, there are 26 transplant hospitals and 42 donor hospitals. We have some experience in training and implementing coordinators as follows: organ transplantation; laws and legal documents on organ donation; organ donation from living donors; organ donation from the dead; approaching and persuading families to donate the dead’s organs; collection and coordination organs equitably, evidently and legally; paying tribute to the dead donating organs and their families. Training organ donation coordinators needs to be carried out regularly and constantly. We have to combine basic and advanced training with evaluating the effectiveness of the training program to make it more relevant, faster, and more efficient.
