제목	A Journey of Empowerment - the KIDS' Dream Choir

초록	Objectives: The KIDS' Dream Choir in Hong Kong was established in 2016 with members from paediatric kidney patients, their families and children volunteer. Its mission was to promote organ donation via sharing of music and love. A survey was conducted to look into the impact of the KIDS' Dream Choir on our patients' and their families' disease journey. Methods: All past and existing choir members and their families were invited to participate in a survey that looked into how the choir had influenced their personal growth and disease understanding. The surveys were completed on a voluntary basis. Results: There were 25 responses from patients (44%), parents (44%) and children volunteer (12%). More than 70% of our pediatric kidney patients agreed that their well being and self image were enhanced through joining the choir, equipping them with more confidence in managing their own health. 81.8% of the patients learnt that singing and performing could help to relieve stresses. More than 50% of the patients and children volunteer made new friends in the choir, enhancing their peer support. Parents also benefited from the choir. All parents (100%) had improved disease understanding and confidence in their child's health management. They all agreed that the parent-child relationship was enhanced. Conclusions: The KIDS' Dream Choir was successful in creating a positive experience to enhance the members' personal growth and empowerment.
