초록 Objectives: This study explores the global impact of Chronic Kidney Disease with focus on the Philippines, which had over 7 million cases in 2021. Emphasizing the challenges of advanced CKD, this research delves into symptoms, adverse outcomes, and high healthcare costs. It proposes conservative kidney management as an alternative for stage V CKD. This study aims to identify the clinical outcomes of Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 patients who opt for Conservative Kidney Management Methods: The study employs a prospective cohort design, conducted in a Cebu City tertiary hospital, the prospective cohort study observed 42 CKD patients undergoing Conservative Kidney Management for a year. Results: In a year-long study of 42 CKD patients undergoing Conservative Kidney Management, participants had an average age of 72.36 years, with prevalent comorbidities such as Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease (85.7%) and Type II Diabetes Mellitus (57.1%). Notable findings include a 15.27% decrease in eGFR, rising uremic symptoms, and varying clinical outcomes like admissions (85.71%), dialysis (32.55%), and a 4.65% mortality rate. Conclusions: While there were marginal changes in average biochemical markers, there was a significant increase in hospital admissions for CKD patients on CKM, marked by a growing incidence of uremic symptoms and eventual hemodialysis necessity, underscores the ongoing imperative for tailored and individualized treatment strategies.
