초록 Objectives: Health problems could influence quality of life (QoL) and outcomes of end-stage kidney disease patients on dialysis. We aimed to identify the medical factors that impact on QoL components in hemodialysis (HD) patients. Methods: The study was conducted at six HD facilities in Mongolia during 2023. We used the Short Form-36 Health Survey questionnaire covering eight components of QoL consist of physical and social domains. Medical parameters were analyzed using one-way ANOVA test by SPSS software. Results: In this study enrolled 156 patients (87 males and 69 females). The mean age was 51.6±12.9 year. The mean dialysis vintage was 43.0±38.6 months. Mean hemoglobin (Hb) level was 10.6±1.9 g/dl. The female patients had diminished Physical functioning score (42% vs 56.7%; p<0.05), Role physical score (21.7% vs 39.4%; p<0.001) and Role-emotional score (26.5% vs 38.6%; p<0.05) than male patients. The old patients (above 60 years old) had a significant low Physical functioning score (41% vs 54.3%; p<0.05) compared to the patients below 60 years old. Role-emotional scores had differences between the groups with dialysis vintage below and above 60 months (36.7% vs 23.5%; p<0.05). 41(26.3%) patients maintain on HD for more than 60 months. 46(41.8%) patients had diabetes. Diabetic patients had a significant low Physical functioning score (38.3% vs 55.2%; p<0.001) and high Body pain score (39.4% vs 28%; p<0.05) compared to non-diabetic patients. 63(40.4%) patients had Hb below 10 g/dl. Patients with Hb low (<10 g/dl) had a significant low Physical functioning score (38.6% vs 58.1%; p<0.001), Role-physical score (23.5% vs 36.9%; p<0.05) and Role-emotional score (22.2% vs 40.8%; p<0.001) than patients with Hb above 10 g/dl. Conclusions: Old age, female gender, duration of HD, diabetes and anemia adversely impacted on physical and emotional component of QoL in HD patient. We need to treat patients based on their individual characteristics.
