| 초록 | Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) diminishes the health related quality of life and increased all-cause mortality. This study calculates the loss of quality-adjusted life year (QALY) due to CKD from 2002 to 2013 in Korea Methods: QALY loss due to a certain disease is the sum of QALY losses due to mortality and morbidity. Three main data sets are required to calculate QALY loss due to CKD: utility weights for CKD, the number of death due to CKD, and prevalence of CKD. The utility weights for CKD by severity from previous study were used. Prevalence data for CKD was obtained from the National Health Insurance Service – National Sample Cohort in Korea. The numbers of death due to CKD by gender, age group, and year were acquired from the Korean Statistical Information Service. Results: Pending Conclusion: The results from this study could be used to establish cost-effective interventions that reduce burden of chronic kidney disease. |
