Renal allograft biopsy is a tool for the definitive diagnosis of renal allograft dysfunction. The information obtained by this procedure has guided therapeutic intervention and frequently help to predict long-term graft outcome. Causes of graft dysfunction are multiple, which vary according to time after transplantation and biopsy indication.
In this talk, I will briefly review the biopsy findings in the early and late posttransplant period, focusing on renal allograft rejection. Recent modification of Banff classification and molecular phenotypes will be also included. |
