초록	Significant variation in peritoneal dialysis utilization and outcomes stem from differences in governmental healthcare policies, cultural differences as well as economic incentives that either promote or pose regional barriers to home dialysis utilization. In this presentation, an overview will be provided of global differences in peritoneal dialysis utilization and outcomes while providing a framework to understanding these differences. In addition, novel insights and developments will be provided into the standardization of outcomes in peritoneal dialysis, and in particular, we will provide an overview and preliminary findings of The Peritoneal Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (PDOPPS) which is soon to launch in South Korea. PDOPPS seeks to better understand global variation in peritoneal dialysis technique survival.
