Case Study:
We report a case of a 33 year-old female with erythema and both leg edema after a tick bite in Germany. The examination for borrelia was done in Germany. Borrelien-IgG-AK, Borrelien-IgM-AK and Borrelien-Antikorper were negative and IgE result was 4238(IU/ml). She was admitted to the Department of Nephrology, Internal medicine for renal biopsy. Biopsy confirmed a diffuse mesangial widening with no definite evidence of mesangial cell proliferation and focal foot process effacement that suggest IgA nephropathy with minimal changed disease. Treatment with diuretics and steroids were done and seven days later she had no more peripheral leg edema and proteinuria. This paper documents the symptom course of a 33 year-old female with nephrotic syndrome caused by an allergic reaction after a tick bite.
