제목	Laparoscopic salvage of peritoneal dialysis catheter with omental wrapping: single center experience

초록	"Background & Aims: Outflow failure has been reported to be 6.0~20.5%. Omental wrapping is one of most common cause of outflow failure. We want to report laparoscopic manipulation for salvage of omental wrapping.Methods: We reviewed the chart and identified total 13 patients diagnosed with laparoscopic manipulation by omental wrapping between January 2004 and January 2019.Results: Mean age of participants was 53.5 years old (21~81 years). Six participants were men. All cases had catheter malfunction. Onset of catheter malfunction was 8~970 days from the initiation of peritoneal dialysis. Five cases were inserted using blind placement with a trochar after midline incision. Eight cases were inserted using surgical dissection through para-median incision. Among total 13 cases, 12 catheters were salvaged uneventfully with immediate initiation of peritoneal dialysis. One case was repositioned by laparoscopy, but had relapsed omental wrapping. After repeat laparoscopic manipulations, the catheter was salvaged.Conclusion: Laparoscopic salvage is useful to correct mechanical catheter malfunctions such as omental wrapping."
