The first Korean nationwide report on dialysis therapy was published by Professor Byung Suk Min in 1982. Afterwards, the Korean Society of Nephrology (KSN) launched an official registry program as ‘Insan Prof. Min Memorial Renal Replacement Therapy Registry’ in 1985 after his death, and the KSN has performed a survey through an online registry system by voluntary participation of the members of the KSN. Nowadays, the accumulated data by the registry program for more than 30 years have been providing the essential information for clinical practice, academic research, and health policy development. However, we are facing some hurdles to the registry program including legal and practical problems. In addition, the response rate has been dropping. In this session, we will discuss on the issues surrounding KSN ESRD registry and the improvement strategies. |
